Getting The Right Size
As ScratchSleeves are a new and novel product, conventional children’s clothes sizes do not always align. This is why we came up with our own method of ensuring that you can obtain a pair of ScratchSleeves that fit your baby or child.
Getting the wingspan measurement…
With one arm stretched out to the side, put one end of a tape measure in the centre of the back, between the shoulder blades, and measure the distance from there to the tips of the fingers. Double this measurement to calculate the wingspan.
Getting the chest measurement…
Whilst standing in a natural pose and with the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure around the widest part of the chest. This is usually just under the armpits.
Getting the height measurement…
Standing barefoot with heels and back against a flat wall, look straight ahead and place a hand, object or make a pencil mark on the wall. Measure the distance from the floor, to this point, using a tape measure.

Using these measurements...
Use the table below to match the measurements to find the size you need. Our sizing tends to run large so we suggest refraining from buying a larger size even if the wingspan measurement is close to the top of the size range. Please note that as we use natural fibres, we expect our products to shrink by around 4% in the first few washes. This is factored into our sizing. Our junior sizes are designed for a maximum chest measurement of 84cm and have smaller mitts. If you require a larger chest size, the adult sizes may be more comfortable.
